I got two ‘offers’ to be setup to someone on a blind date this week … it’s funny how your friends can get worried that you’ve been single for far too long … and decided to take it upon themselves to find that someone for you!!! ;=) I appreciate it … I do … and it just goes to show that I’m not completely hopeless in the love department, i.e. since people, (okay, friends) still think that you’re date-able … and they’re putting their reputation on the line vouching for you … then that’s good enough sign that you’re not about to resign yourself to spinster-hood just yet! not in another few years, that is! ;=)
This whole blind date thing made me wonder just when it started for dating to be such hard work! The dating industry (online, speed- and what not) is a big booming business in recent years and it makes me wonder why. Since when did it become so hard to meet people? Since when did it become necessary for people to go so far as posting (and paying!) personals ad just to meet someone! (er … I’ve never done that although I’ve been tempted more than once to try it out!!! … but the cheap and stingy part of me always seems to win in the end … ;=)
I still believe in fate … I still believe in one person destined for each of us … why it’s taking so long and entails so much hard work is the part that I can’t understand! Hmmm … maybe it’s just me … I do have happily married friends and relatives… On the other hand, a good number of my friends are also waiting and searching and wondering just like me … hmmm … it’s a toss-up! I don’t know which is which anymore. I guess I’ll just enjoy the waiting while it last … and maybe, just maybe … one of the two blind dates will turn out to be the answer to my endless wondering…
