must-do (first of a series …) ;=)
I woke up last Friday with the worst headache ever … and according to more-experienced — and alcoholic ;=) — friends … it is indeed … a hangover! Yup … I had my first hangover … my first drunken experience in all of my 31 years of existence! And I did the whole nine yards … from the light-headed, just- tipsy feeling … to the god-awful feeling of throwing up … to actually throwing up (I didn’t hug the toilet bowl contrary to what I see in movies … i was not that drunk … and the toilet bowl was not that clean! ;=) hehe) … well, it was not so hard to get me drunk actually, being the non-drinker that I am: 2 bottles of light beer make me tipsy … add 2 shots of tequila and about 3 short glasses of margarita … that was more than enough for my greenhorn drinking body! ;=) Nevo had to drive my car home since I don’t trust myself to drive the car … (although I think I can actually drive … but since this will be the first time that I will be driving with more than 12.5% alcohol in my blood stream … I just let Nevo – see, mentioned your name twice already! — drive us home!) ;=) I managed to still brush my teeth before I passed out in my bed … only to wake up 4 hours later to go to a 7am meeting! (They should have told me that I should go drunk on weekends … not on weeknights … especially not the night before an early morning meeting and a whole-day planning session!) I attended the 7am meeting with a throbbing head … James and Trixy (two of my more experienced … er … alcoholic! … friends ;=)) advised me to take lots of fluids and take ibuprofen … that’s what I did and thank God, come 10am for the planning session … my head stopped throbbing and I actually was feeling much much better!
It was not a very fun experience … especially the morning after … but it was a good one! Truth be told … I actually planned on being drunk that night! I have always been the sober one in parties due to my abhorrence of alcohol taste … but that night, I decided I want to try it (to hell with the planning session!) and that’s what I did! I believe it’s one of those things that you have to experience at least once in your lifetime … yeah, like seeing the pyramids in Cairo, climbing Mt. Everest or going for bungee jumping in Seattle’s Space Needle –- yeah, getting drunk is along those must-do-once-in-your-lifetime experience … the funny thing is I am doing it only now … ~16 years late … (I had a very shielded and cloistered childhood … your typical goodie two shoes … ;=) and I wasn’t daring enough to try anything not considered normal! ;=) (funny thing is … I think I am the one who’s abnormal!) … I really don’t have any regrets actually … I believe in perfect timing … (yeah, even in getting drunk! ;=) ) … and i did have a lot of fun … and at least now, i can swap drunken tales to anyone who cares to listen … (or read! … case in point!) … but I’m not too sure if I want to try that again … I did like the tipsy feeling but the bit on throwing up was just too yucky! ;=) … hmmm … I think I’ll just stick to my two bottles of light beer then! ;=)
